Nerve
(Danielle Raina A. Marcelino)
Nerve is thriller adventure film directed by Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost. It was released in the Philippines on July 27, 2016. The movie is about an industrious high school senior Vee Delmonico who is tired of living life on the sidelines. Pressured by her friends, Vee decides to join Nerve, a popular online game that challenges players to accept a series of dares. It’s not long before the adrenaline-fueled competition requires her to perform increasingly dangerous stunts. When Nerve begins to take a sinister turn, Vee finds herself in a high-stakes finale that will ultimately determine her entire future.
I discovered this movie because of my classmate and they suggested that I must watch the movie Nerve. I watched it on July 2018 when the class was canceled due to heavy rain.
I felt worried in the characters and at the same time interesting. My favorite character is Vee because she is a risk taker. At the end of the movie, together, Ian and Vee decide to beat the game, but they must rely on the goodness and moral values of the viewers, who are so addicted to the dangerous game. In the end, good intention beats temporary thrill and Vee is successful in shutting the game down.
The things that I learned from the movie is not everything goes as planned. Sometimes you have to just go with the flow. Even if life doesn’t turn out exactly how you think it will, your still going to have amazing stories at the end of the day. Also, you only live once, so you must use your time wisely. You should take risks and live ever moment with passion. Vee may not be making the best decisions but she is having fun along the way. Lastly, sometimes you just have to wait and see what’s going to happen. If Vee would’ve walked away she may not have ever had the adventure of a lifetime.
My rating for this movie would be 10/10 and I would recommend this movie to anyone, and they can watch it with their family.
